In 1975 Porsche turned the sports car world on its head with the release of the 930 Turbo Carrera. The forced-induction technology that Porsche was using on their Turbo Carrera RSR to dominate at Le Mans was now available to the public. Emission changes in 1980 forced Porsche to withdraw the 930 from the US and Japanese markets. Porsche identified these cars as the Rest of World or ROW production. Importers immediately started buying inventory from Germany and shipping them to the US as Grey Market. These cars came with a few perks the US hadn't seen before but the largest was the nearly 20 HP increase over the previously produced US models.
